“Sound of Freedom” promotional information from Angel Studios.
There was never a chance “Sound of Freedom’s” box office success would garner Oscar attention.
Hollywood is ground zero for rumors of child sex predators, which included Corey Feldman naming names in a February 2020 documentary from incidents as a 1980s child actor.
With “Sound of Freedom’s” focus on international child sex trafficking, there was no way Hollywood would nominate a movie that gives attention to one of its many unspeakable sins.
Roman Polanski, who fled from the U.S., has been connected to these Hollywood rumors. Woody Allen has also been connected to these Hollywood rumors. Others have been connected to the rumors.
The fact “Sound of Freedom” grossed $250.6 million worldwide with zero Oscar nominations for this evening’s awards show and courageously tackled this issue, is pointless to Hollywood.
The most Americans have ever heard of child sex trafficking has come with Jeffrey Epstein’s Island in the Caribbean. It is now infamous for global elites gaining access to children for sex, and promised full disclosure that never happens.
Jim Caviezel, the actor who played Tim Ballard in “Sound of Freedom,” said in at least one interview after the movie hit U.S. theaters last summer, there are more Epstein Islands.
Meanwhile, the MeToo scandal focused on Harvey Weinstein. “The former movie mogul has been tried, convicted and sentenced to a combined 39 years in prison on multiple criminal charges in New York and Los Angeles,” PBS’s FRONTLINE reported.
It’s trivial that “Sound of Freedom” swept through Latin America with vast popularity. Of the $66.4 million SoF made overseas, $43.9 million was earned in Latin America alone. It’s also unimportant how much “shock and awe” “Sound of Freedom” inflicted on several Hollywood franchises after it hit U.S. theaters. Too many elites profit from sexually exploiting children.
Millions of children worldwide disappear into a life of prostitution, destitution, manipulation, and misery.
We learned about Jeffrey Epstein because big names were connected to him.
What about the children who land in sex trafficking because they are poor, orphans, or are victims of a crime?
While Epstein Island and Weinstein received attention, most Americans aren’t acquainted with Rotherham, England. What unfolded there over nearly two decades is shocking in its scope.

Over 17 years, 1997-2013, Rotherham, England had at least 19 descendants of Pakistani immigrants sexually abuse and traffick a minimum of 1,400 English girls between the ages of 11 and 16. Alexis Jay, the professor who oversaw the inquiry for Rotherham Council, reported the following in the Executive Summary of the 159-page inquiry:
No one knows the true scale of child sexual exploitation (CSE) in Rotherham over the years. Our conservative estimate is that approximately 1400 children were sexually exploited over the full Inquiry period, from 1997 to 2013.
It also states:
Over the first twelve years covered by this Inquiry, the collective failures of political and officer leadership were blatant. From the beginning, there was growing evidence that child sexual exploitation was a serious problem in Rotherham. This came from those working in residential care and from youth workers who knew the young people well.
Andrew Norfolk of the Times of London broke the story. Other UK newspapers followed, including here.
Theodore Dalrymple reported in Public Safety in winter 2023 the process started with taxi drivers near schools befriending girls, eventually getting them addicted to alcohol and drugs, and the “grooming” escalating. That escalation included pimps transporting them around England with other Pakistani men. It also included “groomed” girls introducing younger girls to the lifestyle.
Dalrymple wrote: “Soon the girls were addicted and would have to ‘pay’ for their drinks and drugs with sex, often with multiple partners.”
All the while, the Rotherham Council sought to pretend it didn’t happen and cover it up. Dalrymple also reported:
In 2022, a report into police conduct during the scandal found appalling deficiencies, including that the police thought, as an excuse for doing nothing, that young girls regarded an Asian boyfriend as ‘a fashion accessory.’ Not a single policeman has been sacked or otherwise sanctioned for gross dereliction of duty.
Meanwhile, INTERPOL, the international organization that aids law enforcement cooperation, created a Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) database. INTERPOL reports that it has 4.9 million images that have identified about 38,000 CSE victims in 68 countries. INTERPOL also reports the following from a February 2018 study on that material:
The younger the victim, the more severe the abuse.
84% of images contained explicit sexual activity.
More than 60% of unidentified victims were prepubescent, including infants and toddlers.
65% of unidentified victims were girls.
Severe abuse images were likely to feature boys.
92% of visible offenders were male.
This scandal is real, and I don’t care what Hollywood or the legacy media says to downplay it. These are unimaginable acts of crime against the most innocent.
“Sound of Freedom” cast light on the largest criminal enterprise in history. The Bible does not give wiggle room for injustice committed against orphans, widows, and children. Christ followers also cannot claim ignorance.
Proverbs 24:11-12 states (NASB):
11 Rescue those who are being taken away to death,
And those who are staggering to the slaughter, Oh hold them back!
12 If you say, “See, we did not know this,”
Does He who weighs the hearts not consider it?
And does He who watches over your soul not know it?
And will He not repay a person according to his work?
