Bin Laden’s letter is still bad
The kids’ allegiance to OBL is the look of evil
Any remnant of unity that existed following Sept. 11, 2001 has been crushed by a generation of young adults who are ignorant of history and religion.
It’s an indictment of far too many Millennials and Gen Zers who love identity politics, who are not anchored by truth, and who possess a worldview tied to tyranny, totalitarianism, and violence. Something’s wrong with these kids because of their new affection for Osama bin Laden.
It’s bad enough they rushed to pro-Hamas marches after the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks in Israel.
It’s bad enough that too many of those in this group on college campuses have crystallized their antisemitism–even verbally or physically threatening Jewish students on their campuses.
It’s bad enough they’re being propagandized by the Chinese-owned TikTok.
However, it is another level of crazy for these youngsters to latch on to Osama bin Laden’s (OBL) nonsensical justifications about the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S. But here we are.
This is not the story with all Millennials and Gen Zers. Sadly, it’s the case with too many. From Nov. 13-16, various people shared videos of themselves after reading OBL’s Nov. 24, 2002 “Letter to America.” The 7-page letter reads like grievances where OBL claimed the moral high ground without checking Islam or his house. The Washington Post compiled the strongest timeline of how this developed.
I wonder how soon it will be before Millennials and Gen Zers turn on former President Barack Obama for killing OBL at the hands of SEAL Team Six in May 2011. Or perhaps Obama has uttered enough anti-Israel vitriol to keep the whippersnappers in good graces. I dove into Obama’s anti-Israel tendencies here.
OBL’s “Letter to America” gained so much traction the British newspaper the Guardian, which had it archived for more than 20 years, took it down. It is obvious the folks who aligned themselves with OBL’s rantings read what they wanted to read: OBL hated Jews.
The kids believe the land the size of New Jersey is for the Palestinians. OBL preached that. That means Israel is oppressing the Palestinians. If you believed the Arabs and Palestinians want to share land with the Jews, you would be mistaken. They want a genocide that eliminates Israel from existence.
Nearly 4,000 years ago, God, Jehovah, yes Yahweh, instructed Abraham to leave Ur of the Chadeans to go to Canaan, with about 760 years between Abraham and Moses. The man who followed Moses, Joshua, entered the Promised Land: Israel. The long-standing hatred Arabs have for Jews stems from Isaac, the son of the promise to Abraham and Sarah, and Ishmael, the child of Sarah’s concubine Hagar. There have been Arab false religions, chaos, and wars ever since.
OBL justified killing more than 3,000 civilians on Sept. 11 because of the sanctions imposed on Iraq. OBL argued the sanctions killed 1.5 million Iraqi children. OBL also stated because U.S. citizens vote for their leaders, they are complicit in killing Iraqi children.
OBL failed to tell readers the Iraqi sanctions were the consequence of Saddam Hussein’s military invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. However, it is true that sanctions had consequences for Iraqis.
In calling America to Islam, OBL also wrote:
Stop the oppression, lies, immorality, and debauchery that has spread among you. . . . We call you to be a people of manners, principles, honor, and purity, to reject the immoral acts of fornication, homosexuality, intoxication, gambling, and trading with interest. . . . It is saddening to tell you that you are the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind.
OBL railed against America’s “exploitation of women,” alcohol and drugs in our culture, the AIDS epidemic, and the atom bombs dropped on Japan. At the end of the letter, OBL used several paragraphs to quote specific passages of the Quran, and called on the U.S. to adopt Sharia law.
OBL scolded America for separating church and state. Iran is an Islamic theocracy. It is ripe with sponsoring proxy terrorist organizations: Hamas and Hezbollah. It has a notorious location for political prisoners: Evin Prison, and in consecutive falls, they have had unrest from women and hijabs.
Armita Geravand, 16, suffered head injuries after a confrontation with Iranian morality police over her hijab. She later died. Meanwhile, many Iranians draw parallels to Mahsa Amini, 22, who died in the custody of morality police in September 2022 also over hijabs.

About those Islamic, or Koranic, and sharia laws. Muslim nations have used them to:
Sanction the Taliban to reject education for girls;
Compel the Pakistan Taliban to shoot Malala Yousafzai for advocating education for girls. Malala went on to be the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize winner;
Compel women in some Islam-majority nations to be covered head-to-toe in public;
Treat women as second-class citizens;
Rationalize pedophilia;
Sanction female genital mutilation and honor killings of females; and
Sanctions the rape and killing of infidels, or unbelievers.
If this is what OBL wants for America, I'll take freedom and liberty.
Meanwhile, OBL was a hypocrite.
History.com conducted a review of what was found from OBL nearly 10 years after his assassination. It reported the following:
A few items from the hideout were never released to the public, including bin Laden’s reportedly large pornography collection. According to Reuters, the pornography recovered in the Abbottabad compound consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive. ‘Multiple Freedom of Information requests for the release of the files have been denied, so their exact contents remain a mystery.’
Before these young Hamas apologists begin their next cause du jour, perhaps they should not assume Osama bin Laden has the moral high ground. Bin Laden will go down in history as being on the wrong side of history, and he will drag these apologists for the al-Qaeda leader with him.
